Driving PureBlog... again
So as a backstory, I discovered Kev Quirk's PureBlog some months ago and gave it a run on one of my websites because I liked the simplicity, yet the powerful features Kev put into his product. Then I got sidelined with other projects and while I didn't forget PureBlog, it sort of fell off my radar.
But after reading some of his blog posts recently on Bubbles and realizing this site needed an overhaul (A. to get away from WordPress, B. to get me back interested in posting here) I decided to spin up PureBlog again.
I'm pleased.
I am just using the basic functionality of PureBlog, but I can see really spending time tapping into the features that are not sitting right here on top. His recent post HERE has some great information and some shit I want to try.
Notes is one thing for sure. If I am reading it correctly it is a lot like twtxt tweets. That I find useful when I have something to say but not enough for a full blown post. Another that grabs my attention is Mastodon Cross-Posting & Syndication. I will have to dig into that one, but I am all about connecting to the Fediverse.
Being able to theme it to my liking with CSS is a huge bonus (obviously my site looks different than the stock themes) and the whole Hooks and automation section of the docs is frankly, a bit overwhelming, but nice to know Kev has put so much thought into making PureBlog easy to use out of the box but still with the ability to go beyond that box.
So, yeah, back on PureBlog feels right. If you never heard of it or read Kev's blog posts, I urge you to do so. Lots of really groovy stuff related and not related to PureBlog.
